Andhra Pradesh Govt Signs MoU with Microsoft to Train Youth in AI

The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday signed an agreement with Microsoft to train youths of the state in AI and advanced technologies. A MoU was signed between the representative of Microsoft and officials of the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in the presence of the minister for IT, Electronics and HRD, Nara Lokesh.
As Lokesh shared, the agreement aims to bring AI and advanced technology skills into the education of vocational training, secondary school, and youth to build a workforce for the IT and other industries in the state: In the next year, he assured that Microsoft would impart skill training to 200,000 youths in Andhra Pradesh.
He also assured that trains from Microsoft will open employment opportunities in AI and advanced technologies for students all over the world.
Microsoft will train 500 faculty members and 10,000 engineering students in AI and cloud computing in 50 rural engineering colleges in the state. In addition, advanced productivity-oriented digital AI training will be provided to 30,000 students in 30 ITI colleges in rural areas.
With partnership of UNICEF, 40,000 individuals will be trained in AI skills under the Passport to Earning 2.0 initiative, with another 20,000 recipients trained in coordination with the central ministry of labor and employment. Further, to give public service relief to improve govt services and make govt officials effective, 50,000 individuals are to receive 100 hours of training in AI.
